I wanted to give you a one day heads up that I’m starting another 30 x 30 challenge. For the month of March, I encourage you to join me in committing to doing 30 minutes of genealogy research (or organizing or whatever you want to do) each day for 30 days.
I’ve decided that I’m going to spend my 30 x 30 challenge taking RootsTech classes. RootsTech 2022 starts on March 3 but until then I can watch RootsTech 2021 classes. As I wrote in last week’s post, I’m disappointed with myself that I didn’t watch more RootsTech 2021 classes in the year between the two virtual conferences.
My plan is to take at least one class per day, more if they’re short. I hope to spend at least 30 minutes a day watching RootsTech classes. I think this will be a great way for me to make sure I take advantage of at least some of the great education offered!
Please let me know in the comments if you’re interested in joining this month’s challenge. It doesn’t have to be about RootsTech–it can be about anything genealogy related that works for you!

I am in! Whilst Rootstech will form part of my month, I am actually wanting to do some deep dive research into my Father’s family, I am hoping to do a road trip in Summer to visit the area they are from in England, so a month (or more) looking into them will really refine the locations I want to go to, and what I may need to hit the local archives for.
Janine Adams says
It’s great that you’ll use March to set yourself up for successful for your road trip this summer!

I’m in! While I’m planning to do RootsTech this month too, I really want to get ready/prepare for the 1950 census.
(And don’t worry about not getting to the 2021 RootsTech videos. I kept putting off watching them until mid-January. I started to watch them … and then I think I got so overwhelmed at the sheer number of videos and series in my playlist that my brain gave up and I haven’t watched any in about a month.)
Janine Adams says
Gosh you’re right, Rebecca! We only have a month until the 1950 census is released! Maybe I’ll prioritze RT classes on the 1950 census.
Tracie Winston says
I’m in too! I’ll be watching some RootsTech classes as well as getting organized.
Janine Adams says
That’s excellent, Tracie! Welcome to the challenge!
Jackie says
I am definitely interested in this challenge!
Janine Adams says
Fantastic, Jackie!
Kathi Benchley says
I’m in too. I would like to learn as well as organize. (there’s always plenty of that!)
Janine Adams says
Plenty to learn and plenty to organize, right Kathi? Glad you’re joining the challenge!
Linda Schrom says
Definitely time for a challenge for me! I’ve been looking at my RootsTech playlist from last year and watched a few sessions, I will keep doing that this week. The other thing I need to spend time on is sorting through a big box of “genealogy stuff to file or review” that has been sitting around for a few years now (since I moved house).
Janine Adams says
Linda, the 30 x 30 challenge will be a great time to work on that big box! What I do when I have a project like that is to set a timer and do a small amount per day. Daily effort can give such a pay off!
Le Meyer says
I like this idea. I would like to do a RootsTech video each day. Last year I binge watched many of them and was a bit overwhelmed.
Janine Adams says
Excellent! Slow and steady wins the race, right?
Debbie says
I to will be enjoying Rootstech. I’ve also purchased new computer so this month I will be going through items on my current computer before I transfer to new computer.
Janine Adams says
That’s great, Debbie. Enjoy your new computer!!
