Organize Your Family History

Stay focused and happy while exploring your roots

What do you want to read about?

October 23, 2014 By Janine Adams 4 Comments

Almost a year ago, I did a poll of Organize Your Family History readers to find out what types of articles are most useful to you. 101 people responded, which was fantastic.

Since then, readership has grown and I thought it might be time to check back with you. I’m interested in knowing what types of articles you would find interesting to read here. The poll is identical, but please do respond even if you responded a year ago.

Thank you so much! I am so grateful for the input I get from readers of this blog. You’ve helped me immeasurably and I want to write posts that help you in return.

Curious what you found about the Adams family in KY. I visited Scottsville where my Grandparents lived & saw the locks on the river where he worked.

That’s very cool, Julie. There’s nothing like getting out and seeing the places our ancestors lived or were buried! We can also discuss this privately, but I found the gravesites for George Washington Adams (my gggrandfather) and his wife, Henrietta McEuen, as well as her parents. (I don’t think G.W. was actually buried there, since there was no death date on his stone.) I also found the graves of Benjamin Franklin Igleheart and his wife, Martha Jane Ellis, other ggggrandparents of mine on the Adams side of the family. Drop me an email if you’d like more details.

about me

I'm Janine Adams, a professional organizer and a genealogy enthusiast. I love doing family history research, but I find it's very easy for me to get overwhelmed and not know where to turn next. So I'm working hard to stay organized and feel in control as I grow my family tree.

In this blog, I share my discoveries and explorations, along with my organizing challenges (and solutions). I hope by sharing what I learn along the way I'll be able to help you stay focused and have fun while you do your research, too.
